Free Quality Webhosting

I thought we should pin this up for those just getting started with web design or those who do not want to spend cash on web hosting. Please list all the QUALITY free webhosts that you know of.

Does anyone know of a host thats free and also reliable/fast? I've had some freehosts that are mindbogglingly slow even though they offer like 5GB of space and 30GB of bandwidth.

They are probably slow because they have so many acocunts on there server.

The domain thing, I had chosen that domain and they had all been taken, I do not really want to change the name now, so I will probably get http://your-host.co.uk when it becomes available because I know the owner because he tried to sue me for using a domain. All free hosting people should be grateful for, because i make no moeny off this apart from google ads and in 6 months i wouldn't exactly call 8 dollars profit. If a dual Opteron 242 and 2 GIG of ram is not quality i ask you to tell me what is

That seems to go straight to a domain parking service. :bah:

Oh yes www.groundhost.net its new free hoster and the sky's the limit there I believe ... been to have a look and yes its fast and if I'm right you get hosting within a week if accepted ...am going to apply myself Anyone remember phpbbhost[.]org they hosted 1000's of free forums well some of the main team from there are now working at www.grounhost.net so support will be top class ... hey I hear if your project is good the host may buy you a domain name to go with it really sounds good I'll come back and let you all know how I get on (but it may be better if you see for yourself).... :bingo:

I used to be a freebie man, but recently (month or two ago), me and my friend opened up a free hosting site. And since I used to use free-web hosts, I believe Explosive-Hosting is one of the greatest, and not because I'm co-owner.

You can't get great free hosting. You can get free hosting but it dies out.

This one is the only stable one: gmhost.hopto.org

neo-freehost.com offers free hosting in three different packages, depending on how much a part of their community you chose to be, or you can just pop one of their google ads on your page, and you dont have to be a part of the forum.
It's a good quality site, however dont expect to sign up for the next day or so, they're moving to a faster more reliable server (which the users are very happy to hear). Offers cPanel, fantastico, mysql, ftp, subdomain OR DOMAIN, the works.

If you're under the impression free hosting is for suckers you can always PM for a friendly price on reliable paid hosting(new plans coming soon catch them while the last).
