Question about Cpanel

I have a question about Cpanel. I have just started a web hosting company, got a dedicated server and I went to get Cpanel to offer my webhosting with. Liscences are $48/Month. Why is it so expensive? How do free hosts pay for these liscences? Is there any way I can get it cheaper?

Many dedicated server providers are offering cheaper licenses than that, or you may want to try directadmin.

dev99 is correct, often going with a dedicated server provider which resells cPanel is much more cost-effective. Usual price range is $25 for cPanel/WHM or $28 for cPanel/WHM/Fantastico. Contact your provider to see if they have the option of these control panels. DA is also a good option if going individually.
