How it works:
pastebud enables round-trip copy and paste on your iPhone or iPod Touch, between the two applications that matter the most: Mail and Safari. And through a clever combination of web services and bookmarklets, it does it without requiring a jailbreak or App Store download. Watch the demo, or hover or tap on each screenshot in the following flow for details:
Is it free?
Yes, pastebud is free to use for anyone with an iPhone or iPod Touch, so go ahead and use it as much as you like.
You also have the option of upgrading your clipboard for $5, to hide the footer that pastebud appends to the end of each paste.
Is it safe?
It's certainly safe enough for most uses. All clipboards are anonymous, and destroyed withing five minutes of copy. Email addresses are not saved on the server; we only use them to reply for copying.
However, since your clipboard is being passed over the network in most cases, you should take care not to send anything sensitive.
Once the kinks are worked out of our initial launch, we'll be focusing on the next set of premium features, including SSL, destroy-on-paste, and other security functionality, as well as enhanced customization for all users.
What else?
We're in the process of putting together more documentation about how to use pastebud, but if you have a question in the meantime, feel free to ask us at our Get Satisfaction support center, or on Twitter.
