I am sure it will be gone as soon as it drops.

France.tv WAS a $2500 a year name according to Ahead

Espana.tv also drops tomorrow.

Both will be priced at $2043 (name price) or $2200 dynadot one-off fee tomorrow - but surely both of these have already gone before they ever even get the chance to drop!

Could anybody please help me to understand the process.

So, domain would be dropped and what will happens in 8 AM GMT? Who will pick it? Dropcatches? No.
Guys with nice software? Registrars?

Sorry but, I don't understand it :)

All of the above will try and one will be successful.

SKG siad it right Nick, the name will become available, people using scripts like Polin, Name.com using their nabber for the first person who paid $50 for the backorder and a whole lot more.

Ok, thank you SKG and equity78 :)

I'll try "fast fingers" software in that case :)

I suspect an ".TV" Usual Suspectโ„ข will ultimately grab it ... and it will never be properly and uniquely developed! :'( :yell: :imho:

PS. Why is it dropping ($/hefty)?
IYHO's.

Just my two sense,

I'll take bets on it NOT dropping. If it does it will be at NJ.

At $2,500+/- hefty ANNUAL recurring "Premium" renewal fees (in light of the "new .TV pricing stucture") ... it'll drop, IMHO.

Best regards,

Difference between "drop" and "no longer same owner" IMHO.

France.tv drops tonight at 4am semantics aside. There will be people using their scripts and someone already got the first come name.com nabber backorder for the name.

Ahh, interesting, and perhaps due to this thread ... :| :imho:

Kind regards,

Jeff nothing to do with this thread, the name drops at 4am. Just like werewolf.tv and 300 other .tv.

The current registrant did not renew and will receive no compensation, it will drop and someone will catch the name.

Ok, I get it as for...It is almost gonna be impossible to grab this 10k+ Geo.tv since there is some great "dropcatcher" software created for this very purpose,...But as for that 1 person who put in the backorder for this domain. I would assume they had to put that order in a month or so ago, right?

or...I guess my question is, when is the soonest you can submit a backorder on any dropping domains? 5 days previous, a month, 6 months, etc. Just curious. beause I tried submitting a couple backorders a couple years ago, and they never panned out for me, so I just never did it again.

Thanks,
Vito.

Now if it a premium you will see that the backorder is not $49.99 but whatever the premium pricing is for the name.

Now and I am not 100 % I will pm Name.com to comment here, I think if the name already backordered you will not see it in the list. France not showing up because someone backordered. Name.com does not take more than one backorder, there is no auction, if they catch it for you its your domain name.
