Fox News caught cropping Obama's speech

We all know Fox News is trying to convince Americans that Obama is evil, however this really goes too far: Hannity again crops Obama's comments abroad in order to smear him | Media Matters for America

Perhaps they can learn a lesson from the Asper family here in Canada whose CanWest media conglomerate is going bankrupt because they thought the public was too stupid to catch on to their significant distortion of facts on many occasions. With all the choices available to get news on the internet nowadays, these 20th century dinosaurs better try to at least not make it OBVIOUS that they're not delivering the real story.

Yep, here in Canada, CanWest doesn't let anything negative about Israel be printed (majority stakeholders are Jewish which really isn't a good excuse for this distortion of facts in 2009) among a few other restrictions.. Counting down the days with joy until they go bankrupt and we get get some real, less biased news.

So nice to have the internet nowadays and not have to get the news from people who have such obvious agendas.

That doesn't surprise me.

On the Daily Show a few weeks ago Hannity cropped Obama's Cairo speech something like "I know there would be some people who would justify the events of 9/11" and the rest of the sentence was cut out, and it went something like "but let me be clear, 3,000 Americans died that day." I don't remember exactly how it went but I don't really think cropping soundbytes to support a right-wing media agenda is very smart.

And there you have a "news" section of a right-wing "research" website attacking another political commentator. I don't really think Olbermann or Maddow cropped Bush speeches, especially to make him seem like a terrorist. I think they believe Bush wanted to help, but he utterly failed at it. Hannity is trying to get everyone to believe what round Limbaugh believes, which is Obama wants to destroy America and destroy Capitalism, which grows hatred for the government and eventually some domestic terrorism is going to spring out somewhere and the ones committing the terrorism are going to publicly cite Fox News or Limbaugh. (of course Limbaugh will just wipe it off as "a liberal scheme" or blame democrats, like he does for everything that happens).

There's a difference between Fixed News and MSNBC. Fox News says it is "Fair and Balanced" and that title was mocked by a judge in the Fox v. Franken case, which was later dismissed. MSNBC doesn't have a title like that. "Place for Politics" isn't as misleading as "Fair and Balanced".

Yeah - completely agree. Kind of a joke that we pretend we live in democratic countries when the media basically controls who wins. This love affair with Obama will all but guarantee he will win again should it continue -- how's that for democracy?

Yeah lol -- funny they knew before that election about those machines being easy to hack and they used them anyway... I think most Americans would have rather had Bill + Monica in the White House than Bush when Term #2 came around... In all fairness, he certainly did make some mistakes however I do think the media came down overly hard on him.

Completely agree. The media has started to control us since a few few years back and they are getting nastier and stronger all the time.

For me the three most untrustworthy are;
1. The media
2. Politicians
3. lawyers

The media here in Europe is awfull but from what I see the US is even worse, and just like Jib Jab says; it wasn't so before
