I created a domain for sale page for one of my domains hotelbookingengine.com. Has anybody else tried this approach and does it work better than just parking it at Sedo and waiting for a buyer?

A parked page has ads on it so it's always the question of is the sales link noticeable or did they get distracted by the ads which is one reason I always used parking companies with sales links that are at the top of the page and noticeable.

A sales page since it doesn't have ads you can be 100% sure that everyone who visits the domain will definitely know it's for sale. I would think this will improve inquiries. I toyed around with it here and there over the years but never gave it a full test. Due to domain parking earnings dropping yesterday I set (91) domains to a sales page and will probably do at least another hundred for the month of July and see how it goes.

If the domains have strong traffic probably better with parking or development but for the ones that barely make anything or the goal is a sale I think it's a smart idea to try this and I know a few others doing this as well on the ones they are looking to sell that don't make a lot of cash or don't fit with their future portfolio plans. I'm basically doing this with domains that don't fit my long term plans or ones I picked up in bulk purchases that don't interest me. Looks good, good luck.

I personally would use one of those javascript contact us forms than post your email for every scraper to scrape and email you junk.

I took two of my domains and switched them to for sale pages rather than parked at sedo..I even used some free google adwords credit to get them showing up in the SERPS...no bites on them yet, but I am going to do some small seo stuff on them next and see if that helps at all.

Good Idea! Any recommendations?

Personally, I'd buy one of those $5 pages at ThemeForest.net. I personally like the mobius one.

I have actually had more success by people contacting me through my whois info, then finding buyers through a sell page. It doesn't hurt, especially if it is a low traffic domain that would not make much parked anyway. If it is a high traffic domain you could probably make more off of parking it in my opinion.
