Read the Wikipedia entry for Los Ángeles: Los Ángeles

As of the Census of 2000, in Los Angeles, 42% spoke English, 41% Spanish.

The language is spoken by between 322 and 400 million people natively, making Spanish the most spoken Romance language and possibly the second most spoken language by number of native speakers.

It is also the second most widely spoken language in the United States and by far the most popular studied foreign language in U.S. schools and Universities. There are more than 32,200,000 Spanish speakers in the United States. Within the globalized market, there is currently an international expansion and recognition of the Spanish language in literature, the film industry, television and music.

Your title is misleading. This is not LosAngeles.tv.

Not to piss in your thread but I grew up just outside LA and I have never seen it spelled with an accent (or whatever that particular puncuational mark is called) over the "A". Even when it was being used in spanish, such as "La Ciudad de Los Angeles". Just my observation, i might have missed something...

Well,
I'm not a native speaker, and honestly I do not know how frequent an accent is used in Spanish. I found this Geo name in wikipedia and simply regged it. Nothing more and nothing less.

Thank you for your information.

The word Angeles and Ángeles are both correct. The accent in that capital letters in Spanish I think is optional. Funny enough angeles is in correct. The correct version will be ángeles.

However when referring to the city must people will write it without the accent. That is how is known in the US. It is actually I would say its name in English.

Maybe, the original name was actually written with the accent at some point back in history when it was under spanish or mexican control as you can see, it does have an entry in wikipedia.

Regards
