All the manufacturers are jumping on board the foldable mobilephone ship, thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone is registering anything in this field?

Foldable, folding, fold, bendy etc......

To my mind these 'foldables' will be a fad with a reasonable amount of sales. My feeling is the novelty will not override the potential and probable issues with durability.

Yep.

This is incredible. Three separate specimens of a $2000 product breaks within days of being sent to three different reviewers - in three different ways. No matter what happens with replacement units, nor what the explanation, why would you have confidence in the product?

$2000 for a phone is insane.

As posted above, these phones are just rubbish. I can't express the level of insanity they pose.

IT'S THE WORST GIMMICK I HAVE EVER SEEN.

Seriously.

I haven't been able to lay my hands on any meaningful Foldable domain name or it's related variations. Don't know why it's very difficult to come up with something decent.

Right now, I am looking for decent ones to buy at reseller's price

Samsung Galaxy Fold launch officially delayed – no release date in sight

Update: Samsung has officially announced it's delaying the Galaxy Fold, specifically pointing to feedback from early reviewers that showed the device "needs further improvements." Initial findings, the company wrote, suggested the impact on top and bottom of the hinge might have lead to issues with the display, as well as substances that filtered into the device. Samsung didn't state how long the launch would be delayed, only that they'll announce a new release date "in the coming weeks."
