Hi everyone.

Just a few questions about Flippa auctions.

1 - What is the best length of time to run an auction. I assume the max 30 days would be best ?

2 - What is the best time / day for it to finish ? Which time zone ? Sunday evening is best for eBay but Wednesday is often mooted for Flippa ?

3 - Towards the end of the auction how many watchers and views would imply the end price will be high ?

For example, I sell property on eBay. A 10 day auction gives around 100 watchers and 1500 views as a rule of thumb. Anything under this often results in a poor end price. Flippa seems very different - I have just listed my first auction to text the waters and the numbers are far lower - maybe this is standard. I seem to recall one seller who was delighted to have 300 views for his auction. This is a good amount to have ?

Have a wicked Easter.

Best,
Paul

Hey Paul,

1. I haven't run any auctions on Flippa yet but I think the max time (28 Days I think?) would be ideal, gives you time to email out to potential end users and gives them time to think about and create a profile on flippa etc..

2. http://namebio.com/blog/the-best-day-for-your-domain-name-auction-to-close-on/

That blog post should help you with auction day, A time where all sides of the world are awake would be the best depending on the domain - If you are selling a .co.uk or a foreign language domain I would tailor it to finish evening time for whatever country the domain is relevant too.

3. Maybe someone with a few Flippa auctions can answer this one!

Thanks for that Croc.

Wednesday certainly seems to be the best day. With our eBay property auctions we try to finish on another day to others as our reputation is OK. Starting on Flippa is different of course as a 'newbie'. I guess it takes time to build up positive feedback in any business. It has taken 8 years to build up my property business and reputation is everything..

In time it will be there with domain sales too. All good things come to those who wait ;)

Once again thanks for your input.

Best,
Paul
