I recently came across Flippa, and was wondering what the feedback is from sellers of undeveloped domains? And what are the best venues for promoting Flippa auctions. Thanks in advance for any help you can give to this newbie. :)

I've used Flippa a number of times before..Sometimes having some good sales and sometimes not. I've never had much luck selling undeveloped domains on there though. Most of my better sales have all been from developed websites with traffic and revenue.

As for promoting them..It can be a bit tough cause most board don't want you advertising other websites on their forum...I would look at maybe craigslist and other places when it comes to promoting the auctions.

Craiglist? Is there any +ve results from using classifieds?
I was thinking perhaps an extended featured Ebay auction could do wonders right?

eBay no longer has featured auctions. They do have classified ads though.

I've sold a couple names off Craigslist myself :sold:

Not as good of results as emailing end users but I've had a couple of sales.

Flippa is the old Sitepoint.com marketplace forum converted into it's own site. SP used to have a free open forum marketplace. It was very active and I sold lots of sites there.

Then they added fees to forum listings. I walked.

Then they created Flippa.

The Flippa site seems fine and sales do occur. My guess is that you will have to try it yourself to judge its success. Me personally I have no need for it but would consider it if I felt I had the right site. I've always sold my sites on free places like NP or DP without any problems.

I have sold some names on Flippa but I generally go there more for established sites as opposed for just domain names. If you have a good name and list it from my experience you will get some interested people.
