Hello dear forum administrators and moderators,

Don't you think that you've got TOO MANY sticky threads at your forum?

Particularly over here http://www.namepros.com/for-sale-advertising-board/, in my opinion, there are TOO many of them.

So my suggestion is to make only the most important threads sticky, such as rules, for example. That's all. No more other threads should be sticky.

Making so many of your threads sticky confuse people (as minimum me). And except that, it looks very “spammy” and dirty.

Thanks.

users buy there sticky threads for 500np$ (around about $10 at 0.02 conversion rate).

They expire after 1month.

The users buy the sticky threads, the admins and mods dont sticky them.

Yes, I've looked at it, but I don't understand how to make a purchase.

Please explain.

By the way, how to earn NPs?

Thanks bananamonkey, that's also helpful. But I mean how to earn them in usual way, naturally? If there is such.

I believe those guys who sell them, they receive them from forum?

Thanks!

I've just completed a sweep of all the domain marketplace forums, removing stickies that were outdated, member sales that ended, etc. We sometimes leave a sticky thread (purchased by a member) up for more than 2 weeks, if the section doesn't have many of them. The reason being, we try to give our members the most bang for their buck possible.

Scott recently made a sweep of the Advertising board and cleaned up the old stickies there. He works very hard and does a great job. That particular section seems to accumulate more stickies than most, so it's an ongoing task.

Sticky threads are important, and 2 of the key reasons...

- Members want them. They've proven to be a popular option, and a good way to get exposure.

- They are one of the few ways we have to help pay the cost for operating this wonderful (free) community that we all enjoy.

Most of the stickied threads in For Sale/Advertising had recently expired.
I have just finished "unsticking" them.
Thanks. B-)

On another note, I think that there should be a limit or queue on the amount of stickies in a forum... that way it doesn't get extremely overcrowded as it does now.
