To Hell and Back. the main character was a navy seal badass. it was the most epic and climatic of all the sin city novels. the dream sequence in which he does a number of action scenes while hallucinating (tributes to characters of miller's past) was one of the best sequences that i've ever seen anywhere, ever.
Family Values was the one I liked the least, while I thought Booze, Broads, and Bullets takes way too much heat. that novel was not meant to be an epic storyline like the other 6 novels, but a random assortment of stories across sin city. sin city is suppose to be a vibrant city, with many storylines running simultaneously to any given one that you are reading, and i thought that novel added to that feel.
