Something to put in the "You really couldn't make it up if you tried" category is the almost Python-esque situation where the

'forum page that just exists to observe the goings on in another forum"

seems to have MORE postings on a daily basis about the TV section of Namepros than the Tv section of Namepros itself!!!


Talk about life imitating art, imitating life, imitating a bunch of losers!

My goodness, and I thought going on Namepros was a weakness in personality.

What does going on a site that only talks about the postings on Namepros constitute?

I dunno, I read any site regarding the musings of posters that reference .tv.

I know there is a lot of crash and burn flamers but what the hell, ya gotta have more than just one forum to go to(with the exception of "sayswho", the "messanger(sic)", of course!).

I rather enjoy meandering, but that's just me.

You can gain valuable insight into the World of domaining and win all sorts of awards like "2008 .TV Domainer of the Year"! The 2009 winners should be announced soon, I think you are the odds-on-favorite to repeat.

There are a couple nice posters Treebytheriver and Garptrader, JimboJimbo. Microguy is just a negative guy that I have no idea what he has ever done for .tv or made from .tv You have a couple other negative, add nothing people like Clips.tv and Snoop.

All of this comes back to how the extension has perfomed in my view, if .tv had done really well I doubt any of this "stuff" would be happening. When it does as badly as it has people are going to be mad, doesn't matter who get shot as long as someone gets shot.

Snoop has hit the nail on the head. It's when the $hit hits the fan that an individual's true character is revealed. We've all taken loses.

But this is a well-respected professional forum with no room for those that can't control their typing fingers in the wake of disappointment and instead lash out in hostility at those with opposing viewpoints.

True. I'm not perfect. But there is a line. And I think when you cross that line and start name calling and mud slinging, it's time to join the other "forum". IMO.

Rather than mocking people I've been mocking *this extension* for close to a decade now. The last .tv craze (1999-2002) ended in complete disaster and now history has repeated itself. Some people think telling people why this is not a good extension is an insult towards themselves and those people probably need to take a step back from things and get some fresh air.

Whereas two years ago the debate was about whether this was a good extension or dud now even most of the cheerleaders admit there is basically no market left. The losses are plain as day yet still people argue.

Frankly who cares what anyone thinks of each other. The cheerleaders don't like the naysayers and and the naysayers don't like the cheerleaders. It is a bit like th riot that breaks when your sporting team loses, I'm sorry but none of that will change the result, it is just a distraction.

Hullsey, I agree with you, but it seems that those who look at the .tv extension as a business investment will be the only ones to honor it, as the "other side" did not come to this forum with peaceful and respectful motives or intentions.

Too much fun mocking and degrading those interested in the business aspect as they only want to play. (yes, Snoop, you do mock people)

So I guess we have to let them play in their personal sandlot that is the dot tv forum. Oh, the kids these days...

I think personally that is what everyone thinks of it as. Some people think it is a bad investment some people think it is good.

It was a joke, taking the comment from the other site and replacing the names. Indeed posted as a quote with a comment that it was from "another forum".

The point is the cheerleaders often think the naysayers add nothing and the naysayers often think the cheerleaders add nothing. All in all there is no point saying anyone adds nothing because it just shows people's own biases.

I don't own many tv's, but I see a lot of potential in them. One I bought for my hometown in Arkansas, Zinc(tv), and I traded it for some hardware after I got a domain representing the county. Contract signed, domain forwarded to company, and will push once I get the gear. That was a decent return...Thanks Len.

this is how i see dot tv..why would anyone offer a high price for a dot tv when so many are selling cheap...take bristol sold for £4500 .today i get a offer on sedo for one of my uk geos $1000
its the buyer going for the cheap names this keeps all the prices down but one day all the domainers who sell cheaply will have sold there names.then they have to takle the ones what are holding out for more.
so now uk geo is set at $4500 not realy saying what i mean very well but maybe someone on this forum nows what i am trying to say

if i was a buyer i would not go for a high cost dot tv as this will put all the prices up.i would just target all the domainers with tv what sell cheaply first
