.info Ever seen a highly ranked .info ?

Ola,

I'm interested in registering some .info's to use, but I realised that I've never noticed a .info site ranked high in the SERPs.

I'll be providing good content and of course I'm looking for a high ranking eventually.

Do the SE's not like these domains for any reason? Is there a disadvantage at all when using .info's.

I'd like to hear your experiences.

I'm not sure what a "SERP" is but webhosting.info has a google pagerank of 7.

I haven't seen many .infos over the years.
Not exactly sure why?

There are some well ranking .info's out there, but none come to mind at this moment.

I will look around and update when I find any.

SERP...
Short for search engine results page, the Web page that a search engine returns with the results of its search. The major search engines typically display three kinds of listings on their SERPs. Listings that have been indexed by the search engine's spider, listings that have been indexed into the search engine's directory by a human, and listings that are paid to be listed by the search engine.

I have a developed .info site that ranks #1 for its keyword in Yahoo and MSN, but not so well at Google.

For some reason it seems that Google doesn't like the .info tld.

Google doesn't have any problem with .info at all.

Do a search for "bedinabag" or "childrensbedding" or "braidedrugs" and you'll find .info's in the first or second position of results. These are parked pages that have no PR and the only backlinks are other parked pages.

The main reason that you don't see .info's in the top of serp's is probably that .info is a relatively new extension, less developed than .com, etc.
