Ever growing time after last bid for namePros auctions - Annoying?

I've noticed a trend recently for ever growing time after last bid in Namepros auctions. I remember a time when it was usual to have 48 hrs after last bid to win the auctions. Some even run at 24 hrs, and a few at 72 hrs.

At some point most auctions had the rule of 72 hrs. But now I'm seeing a lot of auctions with a rule of more than 100 hours (some close to 150 hrs) after last bid. Don't you find this annoying? I do. Personally I will be avoiding most of these auctions. I don't have time or patience to monitor these long lasting auctions. I understand that sellers want to have the longest time possible to receive bids, but this extreme rule might end discouraging a lot of buyers. Maybe a higher starting bid would be a better idea.

What do you think? Do you find this new trend annoying too? Or is it fine with you?

150 hours is quite excessive. I think people are extending, though, to have more opportunity to bump.

With the limit of once every 24 hours for bumps, 48 hour ends only give an auctioneer a possible 2 bumps if they time it absolutely perfectly ... If you're off by an hour, you only get 1 bump.

Allowing 12 or 18 hour bumps might bring in the end times closer.

I agree, there should be an upper limit. I noticed this recently with 96 hrs. 4 days bumping with no bids is too much.

Regardless of the domain quality, if after 2 or 3 bumps no-one has started the auction or bid higher then it's not likely to happen. Sure there might be that one person who sees it on the 4th bump who hadn't signed in for 3 days, but it's likely only their one bid you gain and not more. Plus then it gets to the top of the list for another 4 bumps too.
Squeezing every last drop out of it is fine if this is actually happening, but usually I see 1 bump is enough to get another bid or two. Then it's 3 bumps and thread closed, a 4th bump or even more is OTT.

I see no issue with 72 hours being the max. It gives at least a few bumps, and if no-one has bid or no-one else is bidding, then the domain name is poor and/or reached it's value for the time/season/value/etc.

I imagine if this was looked at by the powers that be they'd grab some stats from the DB to see if 4 bumps or more is ever effective.

Many people with busy schedules and who do this part time might not be able to participate at 48 hours and 72 is the midline.

Most of the ones I've seen are set at 96 and I think 96 hours from last bid is a reasonable time frame.

72 hours is a reasonable time frame for me but i understand the 96 hours time frame as well.

I set all of mine to 72 hours, I think 3 bumps is fair enough for the seller to and few enough that it doesn't annoy the bidders and other auction-holders.

Anything over 100 hours is OTT. 96 should be the absolute maximum, although my personal preference would be 72 hours.
