Looks like even Google doesn't like .net domain names)) look at this https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/182192#generic-domains only .com and .org
Their article has no any impact on the actual enduser demand... And conversion ratio with .net is good even per my own experience.
.net is much better than hyphenated names .com if you search world top sites list.... you can find tens of .net websites but you can rarely find any hyphenated name website and I think the developed .net websites is even much more than .org in my country developed .net is ten times the .org top extensions like .net and .org will stay forever ...but reselling and pricing will differ over time they are not going to die like .cc .mobi .xyz development is the only way for an extension to stay alive........ dot.co is a strong extension but still no much development into websites ..... so .net future is still brighter than .co until now.
http://www.coca-cola.com https://www.harley-davidson.com https://www.mercedes-benz.com https://www.merriam-webster.com etc..
coca-cola.com is ranked 21,330 at alexa !!! come on! man bring something popular than this I give you Csdn.net ranked 35 at alexa !!!
me too ... I accidently found it in alexa top websites but it seems coca cola needs a new IT .... he has a horrible taste registering domains for the company they have also coca-colacompany.com ! what a shame of this big brand to use these horrible names
But they need it for brand protection since the Coca-Cola name has always included the hyphen/dash. They even have a TM on the swirl!
No, way easy job for IT/SEO guy/team..brand was established and known worldwide way before the internet.. https://www.google.ca/search?q=coca...0j69i57j0l4.3116j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Everyone knows that the clickability of "and many more" means that they don't like .net. It's obvious!
Generally my personal preference is 1. com 2. org 3. net 4. hyphenated .com but every name is different and if the price is right on any of them (eg. a < $250 3L .net) I'm all over it..
