Not all available domains (including those at auctions) were used by previous owners for noble purposes. It's quite common to encounter spam, doorway pages, prohibited, and questionable content.
And this domain history can affect its value.
I've created an online service (alternative to Spamzilla) that analyzes the usage history of auctioned domains. Currently, it primarily covers GoDaddy, Namecheap, Dynadot, and Snapnames.
The service also tracks domains from auctions. If they weren't purchased and have become available for open registration, you can find them on my service as well. I was even surprised by how many interesting domains get overlooked!
Some reports are available without registration. After registering using an invite code, you'll receive 10 credits. And get an additional 89 credits with a promo code!
