    Hi Pros,

I just wanted to share this news with you because it can definitely add to the payment methods we commonly use.

I think it is targeting the European Economic Area more than the American one but I am not completely sure about it.

The company is called BitPanda and I have been one very satisfied customer ( buying and trading cryptocurrencies ) for a few months; they have just launched their 2.0 version and among the rest the biggest addition is the ability to send money to other accounts in an easy and very fast way.

    As they say

" Send cryptocurrency to other Bitpanda users for free and instantly. You don’t even have to pay the blockchain fee. Also, you can send them to any email address. The recipient just needs to create a Bitpanda account. "

I think it is definitely worth a try and I will be adding it to my default payment methods for sure.

    Their website : https://bitpanda.com

    Medium article with 2.0 news : https://blog.bitpanda.com/introducing-bitpanda-2-0-the-home-of-cryptocurrency-e912fd0fa154

    Bye bye

I did not mean it as an ad given that I have no economic return in sharing the information. For me it could be a good alternative medium to PayPal which keeps increasing fees by the day.

Yet to see paypal increase fees by the day, or the week/month/year.
But really, pay via some digital currency?
    Good luck with that.

There’s no fee to use PayPal to purchase goods or services.

    That's not always true.

There are companies that charge you the fee they should be paying when you buy goods from them in the form of 'no fee when paying via CC, 5 euros if paying via paypal' etc.

There are examples even in the domaining world, eg. Epik, .coms are cheaper to buy if using CC vs paypal (there is a thread somewhere in the forum where the owner of Epik explains why).

"There’s no fee to use PP to purchase goods or services." is a direct quote from the Paypal website.
As far as I understand, PP doesn't require a buyer to pay that fee.

The main point (for the purpose of this thread), is that there is no PP sender fee, so "increasing fees by the day" is not possible.

when you sell a domain to a chinese domainer
and its like $1000 USD you pay round about $50 USD paypal fees

I have used ETH for payment lately using coinbase
due to a slight rise in the eth value overnight
I was able to have the exact same amount
that I sold the domain for showing in my bank account
    - no fees -

The original fee of eth to euro convertion was 3 euro
    not much as well

    coinbase highly recommended
disclaimer: using this link will pay me $10 USD after your first transaction

Fees are always applied in every PayPal transaction and they are paid by the seller or the buyer. PayPal does not work for free.

There are no fees with PayPal to purchase goods or services BECAUSE the seller pays them. It is surprising that domainers do not understand the basis of transactions.

The purpose of this thread IS to share information that can help us all when we, for example, sell / buy from other domainers .

If people decide to ALWAYS want to find negative aspects and criticize everything just because it is their choice; the smart and open minded ones instead will take this as an opportunity to firstly expand their knowledge and possibly their business.

@frank-germany You got Paypal fees right, sometimes they are even higher depending on where the accounts are located and on how the account / purchase is funded.

As for coinbase I checked it a while back and it seemed their fees especially for Europe were quite high ( but great for US based customers ). Maybe BitPanda can do the same for the EEA.

Your original post emphasizes the sending of payments. Thus the emphasis on sending payments in my reply. The fact that the seller pays a fee is a given.

Not to criticize. Just to set the record straight. It's Paypal's stated terms, not mine.

It is surprising that some domainers do not understand the their own post (Ok, that was critical).
