What European domain registrars can you recommend me?
I know only EuroDNS.com as this company pecializes in geographic domain names, the group focuses on the European market with EuroDNS and the Asian one with AsiaDNS.
Which reputable ones do you know?

If you are looking for .eu - Godaddy is doing them. Which one are you looking for?

I know only Eurodns.com. I have heard they help to register domain names belonged to the countries you have no connections with. And that is great so far.

Try

Idotz.net as well as godaddy, moniker.

I am not sure about eurodns as I have to reorder my credit cards whenever I use them. I think their system is not secure.

There are so many it's untrue... any extension in particular?
If you're just dabbling then sticking with the 'cover all' EuroDNS might be your best bet as you can keep all your domains in one place. However, if you're planning some serious investment then local registrars are usually the best way forward
Compare prices at switch.ch for .ch and .li or domeneshop.no for .se and .dk with those at EuroDNS and you'll see the difference.
(Although the EuroDNS coupon thread can help you redresses the difference in some cases.)

Which extensions are you looking at in particular? It may be easier to make recommendations knowing what you're looking for...

Well, yea agree with Simon~
"However, if you're planning some serious investment then local registrars are usually the best way forward"
As local registrars would have direct Accreditation and therefore able to offer you at lower pricing.
Well if you are looking at Asian ccTLDs, basically you can check out www.webnic.cc on the aggressive on-going promotions as WebNIC are Accredited with most Asian ccTLDs Accreditations.

I've used some .at names @ EuroDNS as well as iDotz.net for other ccTLDs. They've got quite a selection of different extentions.

I have to say that I have been very pleased with switch.ch so far. I was thinking of starting a thread about them. They are the cheapest .ch registrar I found. As the local registry, I feel like they are about as trustworthy as you can get with the extension. Finally, they register your name immediately, which is very refreshing for a European TLD. I have not had any reason to use their customer support, but I like their service a lot so far.

I have not heard of domeneshop.no, but it seems to be more expensive than Eurodns.

In the past I heard many good reviews on Scotreg, a Scotland-based registrar. Not sure how good they are, never used them myself.

The one thing why I like registering my domains with European registrars instead of US-based ones, is that if I need support I can ring a local number rather than an expensive call to the States. The big US-based registrars should really make a toll free number for their European customers.
