EuroDNS - I have to PAY to change nameservers?

I was trying to change the nameservers for a couple of domains at EuroDNS

It kept asking me to "validate" the changes, for which I have to pay 18 Euros.

Is this some joke or what? You register a name for 50 bucks, and they assign you their nameservers by default, and then you pay them 18 euros again to just change nameservers?

Same goes for modifying contact details. I have to pay 45 Euros to do that?

Anyone knows how to get around this horsecrap?

On domain name Click on details, click modify

click: Manage DNS Servers profiles

Click on " add new dns server profile

When that is done go back and change the dns profile on the name.

I think :!: :gl:

Unless they've changed it in the past few weeks, you don't have to pay. I changed parking companies with 3 names I have there & there were no mention of paying anything.

i have never had to pay to change the nameservers on EuroDNS.com. Maybe its the extension in which the domain is.

yeah, it could be the extension. some registrars don't allow automatic change, so when you want to set different dns servers a Eurodns employee actually has to contact that extensions NIC to make the change... so you pay for his time.

I don't know if this is the case but it could be...

โ‚ฌ18 sounds like you might be dealing with a .nl?
:)
Schoolboy error, my friend. EuroDNS's price list does quote prices for modifications where applicable- it's not a hidden charge.

A tip for the future, and to any one else reading this, is to set your DNS server profile(s) here.
Then when you register domains you can select your DNS settings at registration so you don't get caught out with these extra charges.

its not an exotic TLD. Its a .se, with no restrictions, and a .at

There should be no charge for changing .at- I've changed several of mine at EuroDNS in summer/autumn 2007 and was not charged.

.se is one of those that has to be manually changed with the NIC so EuroDNS are charging for their time. I thought you were able to do the update yourself, but am struggling to find the info on the site- it might be worth having a look around iis.se before paying EuroDNS to do it...
Link to English version: http://iis.se/lang/?id=en

edit/update: I can't see anything about updating the name servers yourself with iis.se so think I may have been confusing with .dk, sorry.

I can't figure this out.

EuroDNS asks me to pay for changing nameservers of my .se and .sk names, and takes more than one week to change the nameservers of my .fr names.

Anybody who knows more about these extensions and EuroDNS care to help me out?
