Hi All,

I had applied for three .asia domain registration on eurodns. Few days back they informed me that they failed to register any of the domain and they have put the domain in my account. Since I am planning to spend that money on eurodns.com therefore I asked them to refund the money back into my credit card. Now they are charging my about 20% for refund in my credit card.

I just sent them an email and I explained them that since It was their fault because they showed me domains available which were actually geo reserved so why I should pay for their technical fault. I also told me that they cann't force me to spend my money on their shop. They gave me ref to their TOS.

Do you people think that why the customer should pay for their technical fault.

While writing this post, I received an email from them that "The fee for the Refund is fix." He also explained that there were no whois server of .asia while landrush!!!!!

Sorry to say but they company EuroDNS looks like cheat and their customer service is crap!!!!!

Your views please ... Can you please help me in this??

Thanks

Annex 3: EuroDNS CED Service for .Asia - Terms of use

Due to the specific nature of the .ASIA TLD, DotAsia Organization wishes a
tangible link between the .ASIA Domain Name and the Asia Region.

To that end, you need to specify at least one of your contacts as the
Charter Eligibility Declaration contact, meeting the Registry¹s requirement
(see http://www.dotasia.org/policies/DotAsia-Charter-Eligibility--COMPLETE-2007-08-15.pdf for official details)

In order to facilitate .ASIA Registration for its loyal customers, EuroDNS will allow its Korean subsidiary to be used as the Charter Elegibility Declaration contact. If you do not have an Asian CED to provide at the time of Registration, EuroDNS Korea will be used by default.

As an introductory offer and to allow you to make the most of .ASIA Domain Names, the EuroDNS Service is provided Free of Charge, at no extra cost to your Registration for the first year. Later on, we may communicate to you the relevant pricing that might be elected you wish to continue the Service.

Please note that the Introductory offer does NOT cover legal costs, administrative costs or otherwise, that EuroDNS may have to incur through your use of the CED Service and that will remain at your charge at all time and be invoiced to you at EuroDNS' sole discretion.

i don't see that on their tos, all i can see is a possibility of legal and/or administrative costs.

20% cost is for the chargebacks not refunds but is shouldered by the merchant not the buyer.

If this is the case, then contact directly the agency where you got your credit card that is involved in this case, and request a chargeback, usually done personally or via phone direct to your credit card's dispute department.

You have to fax eurodns reply btw as attachment and proof. If you have a good record and relationship with your credit card company, usually they will take your sides.

I didn't want to show the quote of the email but here it is ...

"Dear Customer,

you can start the transfer here:

https://V2. E***DNS.com -> credit account -> Display refund requests -> Request a refund

Unfortunately can´t we start the transfer because we don´t save your credit card

informations.

Have a nice day

"

When I follow the process their system charge me about 20% of the amount. It is not exactly 20%. Sorry for misscommunication. It is about 20% of the amount.

Thanks
