Italia - Romania 1-1 (FT), a draw as I predicted

Ohhh .... Romania played a great game, but I almost got a heart attack when Mutu missed that penalty.

I liked the way Romania played, and I hope the Netherlands will win against France later. Go Netherlands go!

Romania will not play with Goian next match, it will be tough next round without him and Radoi though And too bad Romania is in this group. Otherwise it would've been easier to qualify.

Anyway, I hope Netherlands wins today and then Romania beats the Netherlands.

Just like in 2000 when in group with Germany, England and Portugal, Romania went ahead with Portugal when the favorites were England and Germany.

Ye, that match was quite suspensuful. In my opinion, Romania played better than Italy. But that penalty, shouldn't have been a penalty, no foul was committed — still, surprised he missed the shot.

The penalty was not a penalty!

The Goal Toni scored, was NOT offside!

If the referee hadnt forgotten his glasses, Italy would have won 2-1!

In this case, Italia and Romania will get higher rank and then the average points from last world cup and Euro qualification will play a role.

It will be a funny case that if Romania don't lose in the next match, and FRA-ITA ends with a draw, ITA and FRA will do penalty shoots to get... the 3rd rank

No. They gonna count POINTS (3 for a win, 1 for a draw) all the matches from last Would cup and Euro 2008 qualification and divide for number of matches.

Romania did not play in World cup 2006 but they played very well in Euro 2008 qualification (better than Italia). Romania may be in the lead

No. They gonna count POINTS (3 for a win, 1 for a draw) all the matches from last Would cup and Euro 2008 qualification and divide for number of matches.

Romania did not play in World cup 2006 but they played very well in Euro 2008 qualification (better than Italia). Romania may be in the lead

First they count points
Then the result of the direct match (not the case since Romania has 2 draws)
Then the goals. Since both Italy and France lost at 3 goals from Holland, if Romania loses by 1 or 2 goals, and Italy and France draws, Romania goes ahead with only 2 points.

If everything would be mean (like 0-3 loss for Romania in the next match), then there would be penalty shootouts. Since it is impossible, Italy would qualify.

If Romania looses with 4 goals, and Italy and France will make a draw then they will take penalty shootouts.

That would be quite a game! Right now they look like the 2 best teams. Holland has a devastating attack and great midfield. Lets see how their defense will fare against a good attacking team like Spain or even Portugal.

Tomorrows Spain-Sweden game will give us a better perpective.

Although the Dutch look fantastic right now, they could have a "not so good game" and blow everything. There's still a lot of football and a lot of surprises to come! There allways is.

i am from a country where soccer was, is and always will be #1... just see my avatar :hehe:

so, as a person who loves and understands soccer the best teams so far are netherlands, spain and portugal... one of them will be the champion
