The match Austria v. Croatia was a joke and decided by a ridiculous call of, or rather lack thereof, by the referee. The throw in was carried 15 yards down the line, and ultimately lead to the also very questionable call for a penalty.
Austria dictated the game the final 55 minutes, leaving the Croats not much room to act, play or attack. The Austrian team had an abundance of chances, unfortunately none was realized.
I wouldn't write them off just yet. If they can pull 90 minutes off like they played the final 55 minutes against Croatia, this could very well become a highly interesting game.
Germany vs. Croatia is pretty much a no-brainer. The Germans are going to kick the snot out of them, unless the Croats wake up and live up to the hype they've had after eliminating England in the qual.
Should be an interesting day.

That's football for you. Not allways the best team wins. The team that wins the Euro 2008 will need to play consistently well and have a bit of luck.

Croacia are actually playing very well and a bit better than Germany so far.

End result: Austria 1 - 1 Poland. Not a very good result for either team, but they can still keep on dreaming!

The Germans were surprised by the Croats, which have a better team than I had imagined. The Croatian coach Slaven Bilic will probably give his players a rock concert tonight to celebrate their victory.

Its a good feeling to move to the last 8!

Now, what's needed is a win from Austria over German - which would be a milestone in Austrian soccer history since 1978.
Croatia should get a good game in against Poland. Either way, if Austria wins against German (HA! i'm dreaming) and scores higher than Poland does in their game, then Austria advances, and i'll be partying for 4 days. :lol:

Lots of "ifs" after todays games. Since Croatia is through to the last 8, their coach with probably use a number of un-used players for the Poland game, thus giving the Poles a better chance of winning (in theory at least). On the other hand, Austria will have a much harder challenge. It has to win and Germany cannot lose, or else! That's gonna be a game of nerves!

Untill then Austrian fans can only dream!

I doubt that Italia can do anything better. Del Pierro gonna be italian captain and play from begining that will make a big different for Italia. But overall, Italia is a very old team, it will die like the way AC Milan DID die this season. A draw I bet.
