Hey there

Like many of you I was pretty excited in this last days for the .eu landrush, till the point to backorder few really really good names at Pool.

Now almost all the names I booked, are in "Application pending status", this means that someone else have paid more then 100 euros to send a sunrise application and he is a legitimate company who deserve the right of the name.

But, what happen if you have a further look at the whois informations?
You'll find ALWAYS THE SAME two or three COMPANIES who own every single ------ sunrise application you're looking at.

That's it, when somebody apply in the sunrise, makes impossible to anyone else to get that name during the landrush, because eurid must valuate the application first.

Obviously their applications aint' legitimate, since they always claim prior rights on [domainname] LTD. as a registered trademark. I wonder how the same person have thousand and thousand of european registered trademarks.

What that really makes me upset is that, looking at the old sunrise phase 1 applications where this few guys were also playing, ALL the applications with fake and obviously unproofed trademarks has always been accepted.

What does it mean? the first guy who can pay 150euro per name or have paid 10K to become a registrar gets all the names he want?
This is NOT how it works!!!

:td:

http://status.eurid.eu/ check that.

You will see many applications, but that does not mean they will be awarded the domains.

.DE seems to have been the backdoor.

And it is correct to say that an application does not guarantee a victory, but when crap like the shopping.eu example happens, you get the view that there isn't much left to say.
