I have been checking availability for good names with the new upcoming .eu and have noticed that there are some really good names that have sold for pretty high dollar amounts as .coms that have not been registered with the .eu. There are short 2 and 3 letter popular names still available, so I am led to believe here that it would not be wise to reg some of these names with .eu. A lot of generic names that are poplular world wide are available..I am going on the assumption that if the .eu were expected to go over well, these names would have already been regged by somebody...I was deterred from regging any of them because I couldn't believe they weren't already taken! and there has to be a reason for that..so I assumed it wouldn't be a good investment..are any of you jumping to snatch up good names with the .eu?

Pardon my ignorance...I did not keep myself abreast of the specifics for regging .eu names....I saw the ad on the godaddy site for .eu's and really didn't bother to check up on the specs. All this info puts me out of the .eu game...but I managed to open a good discussion thread anyway.. :)

Good luck to everyone who is pre-regging, regging and snatching the .eu's!

Its quite refreshing to know that there are such strict rules on this and that only European persons and companies can regsiter them. I don't want to sound selfish, but at least it probably give the Europeans chance to make some money.

How did you qualify yourself, wot?

Easily :)

And I have retained the "number two" place pre regs expecting that many may not qualify.

Whoops....

You should have had a look at UKPLC.net, it's just ยฃ25 there to setup a dormant company.

I have also pre-regged with DD24, have you had previous experience with them?

Yes, they got me the majority of my .co.in portfolio which has been a major money spinner. :$:

Currently trying them with a few .tw but it looks difficult, most good names taken in the sunrise period. :(

Just in case anybody may be interested, there are some names that are reserved in .eu that are available in .com :)
