Would everyone agree that .eu domains were worse than .asia domains? Yes .eu are shorter, but it seems they never really caught on. Also Asia is a way bigger market. I personally believe that .asia domains will be selling for good amounts in the next couple years. I know there are a lot of people who dont agree and that is fine. I just wonder what happened to .eu.

A lot of german companies appreciate the .eu extension, just look at the current sedo auctions and search for .eu names.
Some go for ridiculous high prices
I think that is the .de effect in action. The .de ccTLD is the biggest in the world at the moment with over 11 million domains registered. The German market is one of the largest in Europe so a German keyword/generic that is already gone in .de and .com might sell well. However it would be best to compare the .eu sale against the valuation for the equivalent .de domain.

EU is better LONGTERM... its not so good now, but its a better investment.. Cause it have potential future! ... .asia doesnt even have a future... the biggest problem is that ASIA isnt called ASIA in ASIA.

It is called Asia in the west though. So a names like travel.asia and the like would have meaning for westerners.

Granted, most of the names in the asia showcase are laughable but there is room for some .asia names in my opinion.

I would take a keyword .eu over a keyword .asia anyday of the week though.

you have to wait 2009 before to say that .asia is a failure.
Now it's too early to say something.

IMO both .eu and .asia has their value, even with ccTLD for each countries in both regions. It's only a matter of how you look at it. With the regional coverage in mind, .eu and .asia can have higher value than respective ccTLD.
