I got encouraged by the two recent .eu sales at Sedo (Photon.eu, and fotoKalendar.eu) and wanna reg some .eu names

I know one name that sounds great, is a short 2 word name that has LOTS of uses on the Internet, but has very little overture.

Are .eu names still a good bet? This name I'm talking of has been taken in all TLDs (Except .name/.cc), but I'm not sure of the .eu market. IMO, the .com of this name would've been worth more than 100k

Also,
Do I have to be European to be able to register .eu names?

In the EU, have a place of business in the EU or be a citizen of the EU. Otherwise the domain can be revoked. But the morons in EURid are useless at revoking domains. There are domains where the registrants are clearly fraudulent and with non EU addresses that have been there for over a year.

Honestly, theyve never been a Good bet, and when the drops occured, lost a huge amount of domain names. I believe the clock is ticking on this registry. Save your money.

I think .eu is better bet than lets say .net .biz .name.. etc it makes lot of sense for european companies and people who want to do business in europe. What i dont understand why cant one from the states register one(well you can but techincally you should not)

does anyone know a bigger company or a service in europe that uses .eu?
