Who can register a .eu?
To register a .eu domain name you must be one of the following:
1. Undertakings having their registered office, central administration or principal place of business within the European Community; or
2. organisations established within the European Community without prejudice to the application of national law; or
3. natural persons resident within the European Community.
Proof of your trade mark(s), company names and personal names will be required before registration, and priority is given on a first-come, first-served basis.
Schedule
There will be 2 Sunrise periods of 2 months each, prior to the full opening of the .eu domain name. Sunrise 1 is scheduled to commence 4th quarter 2005, with sunrise 2 following 2 months later. Immediately following the sunrise period, registration will be on a first come first served basis, providing the eligibility criteria above are met. During the Sunrise period, the ‘.eu’ name must exactly match the trademark, company or individual names.
