United-Domains.de

I thought I posted in this thread earlier today. I wonder what happened to it. Anyhow, if anyone decides to take advantage of the United-Domain.de 1 Euro sale, here's some information that might help.

United-domains.de has been around for a while. They work with yahoo.de. If you go to http://domains.yahoo.de you'll be redirected to http://www.united-domains.de/yahoo/. That's only important so that you know they do a lot of business in Germany. Hence, the monthly deals.

There's a few important things that you need to know if you use United-Domains.

1) Changing your DNS requires a fax. Unlike other companies, it is also required that the domain already be set up. Meaning, if you have your own server, you must first create the domain account and then fax United-Domains and ask for a DNS update. Here's the English version of the fax form: http://www.united-domains.de/download/ns-update-en.pdf (in case anyone found it difficult to locate).

2) The .EU ccTLD costs 29 Euro to renew at United-Domains. If you want to transfer the domain to a cheaper company to get a lower rate, you must request the transfer 60 days before the expiration date. If you requested the transfer with less than 60 days before expiration, you'll get charged anyhow. Here's the English version of the "Change of Provider" form. http://www.united-domains.de/download/providerwechsel.en.pdf

3) Lastly, it costs 10 Euro to transfer the ownership of an EU domain from one person to another (a push). Here's the English version of this fax: http://www.united-domains.de/download/inhaberwechsel-en.pdf

I hope that helps.

Eight bucks isn't bad at all for the service they provide, just remember you get what you pay for.

Let's see how far you get with paying nothing for domains.:bah:
