I asked etsy.com how they do with old usernames for the shops. (etsy.com/shop-name)
And i got this reply
"if a shop name had been used in the past then it is unavailable. We won't be able to free up the username/shop name "our trademarked name" for you and we won't be able to transfer your account information to that name because it is against our policies."
I talked to the past owner and she changed her name because it was the same as our trademarked name.
That is kind of weird, well i guess it's simular to twitter but here you will find that the site does not exist...
People can actually start loads of shops sell one product with a trademarked name, they say oh i didn't know it was a tm... Then no one wil be able to use the name again because no one is infringing of your tm if there is no shop on it.
Whats your thoughts about this
