.tv Ethical or legal issue?

I'm considering regging some .tv names that are available but the .com ext are regged. The names are some what generic and best I can tell are not trademarked or company names. What's the over all opinion of regging .tv domains when the other ext are taken? Any legal issues to consider here?

well, i dont think that stopped the person who regged the org, or the net, or the info ect..
as long as it is not a trademark, you're totally ok

Good point smash. btw, looked at your site--you have a LOT of names there. You have any luck selling?

yep- thats why i have to remove a bunch- i add names, but always forget to remove sold or expired names- i literally have to remove like 40 names off there this week. i sell ok- just sold one last night- Promotez.com- sent the cash straight to my programmer!

How do you go about finding buyers for your names? Are you targeting endusers or selling on other domain forums or getting enquiries via Sedo, etc?

sedo, DNF, namepros- every month i put a name in sedo featured and i get offers- last month whip.tv was in there and i got an offer on that and on pal.tv- this month i just put in another name- i also have bought a banner for my sales site on dnjournal twice. and i have sold a decent amount of names that have come thru my site or whois- just gotta keep puttin it out there

oh- and i go thru the domains wanted ads daily- sometimes sell thru there too
