Hi Guys and Gals,

Looking to pick up a couple of drops today and was wondering how accurate you have found the estibot valuations in your experience? One of the sites is a .com valued over $5k us on estibot. Outlay would be a lot less....... this is becoming a bit of a pattern with other european based domains too. Estibot is indeed a great tool and I'm just hoping the valuations vaguely match. Thoughts?

Cheers

I don't believe in estibot or any other appraisal system. Dn' s are only worth what the purchaser will pay for them. If Estibot says a name is worth $5,000 and you sell it for $50,000 then who was right the purchaser that in 2 more years sells the name for $150,000 or estibot?

Buy generic domain names and put your price on them.

When I go to an auction I have in my mind what it is worth to me and that's all it's worth to me.

Estibot's intention is not to give you an accurate sales price, but rather indicate if their is potential value. Estibot uses quite a bit of domain sales comparisons to form values for potential keywords and domain names. Is it accurate? its probably the best service out there for free automated appraisals, but thats about it.

Should you buy a domain because Estibot says its over 5k? No... You should buy it because you see value in it, or you believe others will see value in it. Estibot doesnt make you exempt from comparing domain sales (see my sig). Find out if that keyword or those keywords are selling well.
