EstDomains Down - Risk to account holders?

Since yesterday I've not been able to access EstDomains.com - I have around 200 precious LLL.in domains there and its getting a little worrying especially after reading that the owner was convicted of fraud/criminal activity and serving 6 months in prison!

I was emailed a link from the customer service people which said I can access the site using the myorderbox.com sub domain... which is great... except I can't really do anything with my domains from there.

I've been trying to move my domains to another Directi reseller - but here's the problem...

- You can't move a domain name to another account if it is associated with other
services such as "domain forwarding" or "managed dns"...

- So you need to delete these services first.

- When you try to delete them - it takes 30-40 seconds then says your request has been queued.

- So until they process the queue I can't move my domains out.

- Its been over 4 hours and still queued!​

Any one else having problems with EstDomains?
Has this happened before - and more importantly how safe are our domains?

If the company gets shut down then what happens with the thousands of domains we all have there? Its an ICANN accredited registrar - does this mean we are protected or it doesn't mean much?

I have an estdomains account and I received an email from them saying their site is down and here is a temporary url to use to manage your domains.

Yes I got this also, it works to access the account - but then there's not much I can do in there in terms of moving names out to other reseller accounts.

If the name I'm trying to move has any services attached to it - ie. domain forwarding - then its not letting me move it to another account.

Basically any name which I registered at EstDomains has these services - but names which I bought from other people (and they were pushed to my account) are fine to move because they did not come with those services...

I've moved about 20 of my names out so far... but around 100-120 of them have services... so I'm a bit buggered with those if something happens to Est.

I havent been able to access the site for the past 48 hours!

is this happening to anyone else? i need to transfer a domain asap.

I was able to access the site yesterday, but it's down again today. I'm really gonna transfer out all my domains from there.

EDIT: It doesn't work through the temp URL either. Grrrr.

I moved all my domains into my own reseller account. I did this last week when the same thing was happening with Est. I'd suggest people take caution and consider moving to a safer/reliable registrar - even to another Directi Reseller - at least you can push out and not have to pay transfer fees.

The site works now. I managed to initiate a transfer... Hope it ends okay.

If you have lots of domains it might be worth just doing a free push to a different Directi Reseller Registrar - instead of transferring out... but of course if names are coming near renewal anyway then it could be worth transferring out... just as I did with about 50 of my LLL.ins.

Name.com offering $13.99 for LLL.in transfers in case anyone is interested.

Sounds I'm lucky, I have moved all .IN domains to another ResellerClub account two month ago.

But I still have many funds and .COM domains in EstDomains.

They seem to be having real problems at the moment, I thought they had it sorted out about a week ago, but reading members posts here today, it seems very much not the case, at the end of the day it is your desicion to look after your names.

I still have some 3l.ins there which I would like to move out but they wont let me transfer because they have domain forwarding attached. I have tried to cancel with no sucess. I emailed support and got this response

Due to the interruption of the services your additional services are down and due to this the Deletion of DomainForward for xxx is stuck.



Feel free to update the ticket should you need any further assistance regarding the same.

My hosting company has our own directI reseller account so if someone would like to move them to us or would like some temporary storage while they find a different registrar then feel free to let me know.

I had the same problem. But somehow overcame it...

When I deleted a service it either hung or returned a 404 error. I retried and it said it was successfully removed. But then if I tried to move it and again it said it was attached to a service that could not be moved. I logged out, logged back in and then tried again... and it worked.

Don't know exactly what was happening there. But keep trying and keep bugging the support till they do something about it.

Thanks I will keep trying. I replied back saying why would I want to submit another ticket when this one was not resolved lol and that I wanted to move them.. I will see

I keep getting the same message with the last of my names with them!!!

Have submitted tickets and keep getting the usual blah blah blah response from them, keep saying unable to confirm deletion due to tech issues!!

Now i am getting really pi**ed of with them.

Yea I have to admit I would advise others to stay away. I will see if these names can be moved before they expire..
