Inventory includes about 3,000 DVDs and about 300 audio CDs. Assorted titles, some titles has multiple copies. All original releases, factory sealed. Some titles are no longer available in US and/or other countries, others titles are exclusive releases in Brazil, and others are titles that are already availble in US and other countries, but people who lives outside Brazil or have interest to learn Portuguese language want them.
Reason of sale:
Brazilian shipping costs are very expensive since end of 2004. I was charging about US$30 to delivery a single DVD to an U.S. customer, so I have been lose several customers every day. In the past, when I was able to do a low shipping cost of about US$15, the sales was higher then 2005. I have shipped a few orders this year, but at this time the website is not getting new orders (you can confirm adding any item into the shopping cart). Since the shipping costs are every day higher than before, this is main reason that have help me dedided to put the business for sale.

Well, since I'm offering a complete and serious business, I think it would be nice if explained more details about it. The goal of this business is in an immediate direction: running it from U.S.! If you order 50 DVDs at once from Brazil, for example, your shipping cost for each DVD will be less than $2/ea., so you can do very low shipping prices inside US and get hundreds of new customers that have not been ordered from us before. I received many emails from lost customers due to shipping costs, they don't understand why we charge about $30 for shipping since a DVD costs $25 on average. The shipping fee is higher than product price. So imagine if you can offer the same DVD for $24.98 plus $5 of s&h fee... Or if you offer something like "buy 3 DVDs and get shipping for free". I'm sure hundreds of new customers will be ordering from website quickly, besides returning customers! Also, we had some other issues that did not help us to reach more sales all this time:
- No regularity on listing new titles on website. As many DVD is included, more sales will generate (he have less than 10% of available DVDs in Brazil listed in our website).
- No replying customers emails in time.
- No offering a customer phone number (people are affraid to place international orders with unknow companies)
- Unable to accept other payment methods as money orders (in Brazil there is no way to withdraw them except if paying high banking fees), directly bank deposit, or phone / fax orders.
Considering to implement all above services in website, get ready to double the incomes very quickly.
Ordering from Brazil is easy: I can be the supplier of new owner for all DVD titles. Since I have a legal established company in Brazil, I can ship every day if you want, the only restriction is $20,000 USD limit per day. The DVD costs are variable, as in any region. But, for example, at this time we have about 40 customers requests for the new Brazilian Carnival 2006 DVD. It will be released in a few days, and the list price is $27.98. Please note that these about 40 customers are waiting to buy the DVD even paying $30 of shipping fee!!! Imagine if the DVD can be offered for about $29.98 including shipping! This DVD costs about $16.98. Other titles in average $18 but many of them cost less, and offers are received every week to me from studios.
Website expenses & requirements: less than $450/yr. for domain, hosting and SSL secure certified (plus DVD costs, of course). You will need an ASP programmer to do some changes to fit the website into your needs due to difference to manage it in Brazil and US (as shipping details & payment gateway). I can do this job if interested by new owner since I have been made every modification in the wesbite all these years. Price must be negotiated, according new requirements, or the owner can get your own programmer.
