Chances are, when you are dealing with end users on domain name transfers they prefer Godaddy is it is the largest and most known registrar. Many times though, the domain you are selling is a Godaddy name and they insist that it be transferred there.
I learned my lesson by first transferring the domain from say, Network Solutions, to my personal Godaddy account first. After the domain shows under your panel, then you should do an internal push. That way the Whois information automatically transfers.
If you transfer straight from your old registrar to their Godaddy account, then you have to change the whois manually. I've had a hard time getting buyers to do it timely, even after repeat emails. Escrow.com is particular on Whois info change before they credit you with your payment.
The buyers eventually update the whois information, but save yourself a headache and do a internal push instead. I like to minimize the work they have to do as much as possible. Then the transaction runs smoothly.
