Not really, same MO as Gab. Put out very basic CYA email and then just play victim and ignore and continue on, business as usual. As I said earlier, unless you prove real crime or intentional fed honeypot most customers will agree that Epik is victim and continue on as if nothing happened. Many won't even hear about hack or understand what it is or means and fewer will care.

Letting the professionals handle the media is probably the best approach and it would have been better had it been done so from the start. The second leak complicates matters but there may still be an on-going investigation. The main thing that registrants will be concerned about, after their creditcard details and personal details, is the security of their domain names.

Let this breach be a lesson to all of us, for investors as well as other companies. For investors to do research and evaluate where to put all the eggs. And the best is to diversify, because we never know which company to trust, until a breach has happened it's already way to late.

I totally agree with this, as I have been doing this ever since I began seriously investing in domains in mid-2018.

Well, sadly, as kitaner explained his crew is going to try and put a lot of these people in prison for "hate speech" so that is probably a bigger problem for them and the real reason I am here. A lot of those people are just Christians and pastors trying to do as their faith tells them, share the Gospel and speak out against sin. Canada is now putting pastors in prison for simply saying homosexuality is a sin.

Rob did every single thing he could to get all these people onto Epik and using his services (mostly white labels). Many of them didn't even need to switch but he begged them and they wanted to support him but he let them down, intentionally or result of utter incompetence I do not know but he let them down and now many of these good and honest people will literally go to prison or lose their jobs or have their families harassed.

I've steered clear of the politics of the situation. The problem is that all clients of Epik have had their data exposed in this breach. The media coverage has concentrated on the political registrations and almost completely ignored ordinary registrants caught up in the mess.

While there were some political registrations on Epik, most of the registrations seem to be there because of the low registration fee and specifically the sales platform. Epik, as a registrar/hoster, is very unlike the typical retail registrar/hoster in that most of its domain names are pointing to sales IP addresses and are for sale. Some portfolio operators have already shifted to Dan, Afternic and Bodis (based on the latest nameserver stats) but the expected collapse of registrations on Epik has not happened yet based on DNS and IP data.

I do not have low opinion of Epik customers at all but I certainly have a low opinion of Epik and Rob Monster because they have proven themselves to be incompetent and dishonest.

I had one domain at epik as of a couple of months ago, by accident. I had forgotten about it but when realized it was there I moved it away. I called in to have it unlocked and and no one answered. A few minutes later Rob called me on my cell, "because he saw it was me", I said I don't want to talk to you.

I had moved all away many years ago when I realized that Rob Monster didn't care about user privacy (as a result of my exposure of his fake VPN) and his dishonesty.

I also had a credit card on file, which I am not happy about. Stupid of me to leave that active there.

You can't seem to get it through your head that I am a free speech absolutist, a born again Christian and probably further right than him, if I cared about politics, but I do not trust or respect Rob Monster and with good reason.

So again, go away. I really do not want to talk with you.

Again, this is getting old, yes, the hackers are wrong for hacking, we all know that, but those thousands of customers didn't hand over their personal details, login details to their servers, credit cards, real identities, etc etc to the hackers. If you really cared about those thousands of people you would tell those people not to trust Rob Monster, he is either incredibly incompetent and dishonest or a traitor that sold them out. Based on the security practices epik followed, that have been documented and reported here, It is one or the other.

BTW - I have spent many, many hours on the phone with Rob Monster, exchanged dozens of emails and had many reports from others that have interacted with him so I know him very well and I know a lot more than I have posted here. I have seen him directly cover up fraud, cover up lolicon distribution, try to get all the data from other free speech platforms by pretending to want to purchase, lie about his products - products that were a direct threat to user privacy and then threaten people, me, with lawsuits and worse for exposing them.

I heard that as part of a new security upgrade, users now need to say a 5-min prayer out loud to log in. This way, all your data stays curse-free too.

Seems to have been a third release with more server boot images. This latest release includes some US Republican Party/GOP data.
