I'm used to everything being slow at eNom, but most other registrars send the epp keys within a few minutes of automated request - I'm still waiting after an hour.

I tried it a second time ten minutes ago.
There are no spam filters in the way of the email.
This is a .com domain

Is this the typical experience or is something wrong?

(it's not generating a new epp key everytime I request right? there's only one key for all time for that one domain on enom?)

no point keep resending, when it failed the 1st time

glitches...

Ah. Well this always happens when I am dealing with a non-customer who is just annoying and I want to get rid of asap and their domain.

Of course they waited until the last possible day to request the epp key too when I told them to transfer out months ago. Now it's my problem if it expires. Sigh.

that's bad.... when it goes under the expired tab, you can do nothing to it except renew'ing it first.

hope the system daemon wakes up soon and send you the code asap.

good luck :)

Actually it's been my experience that you can still transfer out domains that have just expired from any registrar.

Well at least on enom and godaddy.

(or is there a work around??)

No you can't. They need to be renewed before you can transfer them out.

I know for a fact I transfer out a domain that had expired for a few days out of enom into godaddy (and visa versa awhile back). The first transfer had failed, it had expired, and I tried a transfer again, and it went though even though the domain had been expired for several days at that point.

Of course the domain has to be in unlocked status - the idea here was that I had already had it unlocked and had the epp key. Your milage may vary!

ps. the email finally came... whew

You can transfer out expired domains from eNom. Just ask them to unlock the domain and send the EPP key via a Support Ticket.

Likewise, if you, or your customer, does not receive the EPP email, you can contact support and they will send it using a different system. Sometimes the email that is sent via the website gets filtered out my the receiving mail server.
