Don't really understand what's going on here. Emirates.eu was lost by the previous owner: ADR.eu

However "Since the Complainant has not established eligibility to register a .EU domain name, the Panel ordered that the disputed domain name emirates.eu be revoked". So this name is just being released to the public now.

What I don't understand is what's the point releasing it to the public again as any next owner would get a lawsuit pretty much automatically. Am I missing anything?

I think the old registrant would be living outside EU and/or doesn't have any business activity in EU and the new registrant must be living and/or having business in EU to register this domain and be safe from losing the domain?

Nope, the old registrant was 100% EU-based: "The Respondent is Stichting Roos Beheer of the Netherlands. It appears that Mr Michael Toth of the UK is the beneficial owner and guiding mind of the disputed domain name."

Than how come the domain was lost by previous owner... Is Emirates a trademark?

Indeed a trademark (see ADR document). That's why I don't get what's the point releasing the domain for free registration again.

Well, it is taken now (not by me).

Those ghost registrars truly screwed this registry by registering hundreds of thousands of names and all trademark names.
