Hi guys, I have received my first cold offer by email for a dotcom domain I own, with potential as a fast-food brandable. I can see that since I first registered the com in 2009, the net and .co.uk have gone but are not developed.

The offer is for $50. How wouldn you experienced pros go about hiking that northwards?

Cheers,
Jay

Look up their email or whatever info they give you and see if you can figure anything out about them. Personally I wouldnt even sell a crappy name to someone that writes me first for $50. On the other hand it can very well be a domainer type that is essentially making his/her final offer. Need to decide the lowest you will go. Add some bargining "buffer" to it and then make a counter offer. If you can care less about if you sell it, you can dare to counter even higher. Some people like to get a phone number and feel out the other party in conversation first. Goodluck
