Hello,
Just was wondering, which email service would you chose for an email with your own domain?
Currently I use the email service from my hosting, but I was thinking to use google with a $5/mo plan. Is it worth or should I stick with what I have right now?
Thank you

Yeah,in gmail and other major email providers there is a forwarding option and in most cases it's easy to configure with cpanel.

I think hosting your own mail under your own domain names is better from a privacy pov. But it may require sysadmin skills on the occasion. I would never share my E-mail with a datamining company like google.

Yeah, I used before the email forwarding feature long time ago, will check it again.
Kate, Google already has our data stored.
I'm using the webmail feature from cpanel, so fat is ok, a bit în the slow side but still ok.

So why give them even more ?
You can use Tor to perform searches if anonymity is important.

Hi, -Em-, you could transfer to NameCheap if you're not with them and take advantage of their free email, however, if you want a send and receive and use secure private email hosting, it's just approx $9.99 per ann for personal, and $29 for business. Works out cheaper than google etc.

Most registrars don't offer free email nowadays, out of the good registrars, NameCheap is one, UnitedDomains is another that offers a simple one direct free service from your mail provider. You can also forward your domain for send and receive using various WebApps when you have configured you domain. But the Webapps cost per month.

You can register domain at 1and1.com ($0.99 .com / first year) and set up email for free, e.g. JohnJohn.com - [email protected]

if you are going to use it for business purposes, I would not get tricky. just get a standard email plan.

that namecheap offering looks good.

I have not tried them, but godaddy and godaddy resellers offer paid email.
