So I just listed a few names for auction on ebay yesterday and today I get this message when I try to place a name up for auction.

Attention Sellers:
We’ve noticed that you have been selling more on eBay. We want to ensure you continue to increase your sales successfully. Before listing any additional items on eBay, please contact us to discuss your selling plans and goals.

Please click here to acquire the phone number and PIN to directly contact eBay customer service and speak with a representative.

Note: To acquire a PIN you must be logged into your account.

So unless I call them and discuss my selling plans? they wont list my items. I have 100% rating and my account is about 15 yrs old.
Never had a single fraud or theft issue.

Anyone else had this issue? Is it just for domain name sellers?

unreal

Could it be that maybe they just want to discuss your selling plans and goals? I know sometimes ebay gives me more incentives when I start listing items more frequently. The only real way to know what they want is to contact them.

I have no problem with discussing goals....
I have a problem with them refusing to place
my auction unless I discuss my goals with them.
My goals are,as they've always been, to SELL
and BUY on ebay .....

Do you have a monthly selling limit, and did you pass it?

If not then they just want to talk to you and try to encourage you to move up the ebay ladder.

I checked your ebay page (if its the same as your username here).
Your last activity was in 2011 and then recently you listed two names in the mid x.xxx range. So i am pretty sure this is a security issue and its not about offering you additional options, etc.
I think they have some automatic formulas where they calculate the risks. When you are inactive for a period of time, you might be "reset" to high risk category, etc. This happened to me with paypal. Now i have to wait 21 days for my money after seller pays.

But anyway, if you call them and explain them that you are an ebay member since 10 years with no problems, etc. , they might simply "unlock" you again and let you list names with high prices.

Just a guess though

EDIT: Johname could be right. I also have a monthly limit of 3000 euros . so after listing two x.xxx names, you might be over that limit.

Maybe they want to check your tax ID number so they have up to date information for when you do sell your domains for thousands of dollars. They want to make sure you pay your income tax. ;)

no, ebay doesnt collect this info. paypal does but only after you hit 200 sales AND $20,000 threshold.

unfortunately these days even with 15 year old accounts - if you havnt been active in a while they have all these new policies in place to with dollar limits, etc.. years ago there used to be no dollar limits for anybody..but that was then.

Hmmm,

You're all correct .... I have no idea about my
limits, I have been dormant for a while and
I did list high priced items .... Grrr I hate
when I act irrationally. I hear it drains
libido .... heh

OK ..... weenie alert!:guilty:

Thanks everyone
