Easyspace.com - Scandalous!

Unfortunately got some domains from these people some years ago, managed to sell most of them.

Came to renew my remaining 3 .us and 2 .info and they want 25 pound sterling + vat renewal fee for each name.

Worse was to come, initiated transfers to Dynadot which were then blocked by Easyspace wanting their own transfer code on top of the epp. OK- not too bad just a hassle.

Added their transfer code and guess what-they now want a transfer away fee of 15 sterling + vat for each name- absolutely disgusting. Big :td: for these thieves.

I purchased a domain on Sedo that was with some Registrar stuck in like 1998.
They wanted $25 to transfer the domain to another account.

This is the "screw you" response I got from them- avoid them like the plague and make sure everyone knows.

1. Provision of a Registry Key or EPP Code

2. Provision of the ability to amend the Locking Status of a Domain

3. Provision of the ability to amend the contact information for a domain

EasySpace provides these services free of charge to all domain registrants and
as such we are in full compliance with ICANN policy on transfers.

The ICANN website clearly states in its information for domain name holders
the following:

"My registrar is charging me a fee to transfer to a new registrar. Is this
allowed?

Yes. Registrars are allowed to set their own prices for this service."

This is probably why they only have 0.161% of the total global marketshare. With stunts like this they are not likely to get much more!

If the name is any good, I would just pay the fee and get it out from this crap registrar asap.
