A good friend of mine is starting a E-commerce site that will be selling "beat cancer" type T shirts, jewelry, decals, etc...... and a large portion of the profits will be donated to cancer type charities. All of the marketing will be promoting the site as a business that donates a large portion to charity. She will not be set up as a charity but as a business. It will be a for profit business that also helps charities. She has both the .com and .org and was curious which do you think fits the concept better? Whichever extension is not being used will be forwarded to the site also.

Thanks for your thoughts

Make 2 websites and link each other. The .com for the e-commerce site and .org for the charity work they do.

I watch a lot of SharkTank, and there's quite a few start up's who donate to a cause with each sale. My thought's are if you're building a brand to use the dot com, though, if the brand is a cause in itself such as CureCancer, perhaps the dot org would be best.

Below are a few SharkTank comapnies who give back:

Great thoughts Grilled and thanks for the links to check out. I also do believe to use the .com because she will be building an actual brand.
