I bought a domain at dynadot.com with WHOIS protection. My name still appears but my address is hidden. Dynadot's explains by saying if my name was hidden also that I would not be the owner. Is this true? I have many domains at namecheap.com with full WHOIS protection - name, address, email, etc. Does this mean that I don't actually own those domains?

Simply change your name to Domain Manager.
That is what I do.

Why not join DNOA.org ???

One of the benefits is free whois protection.
I was paying for whois protection with Dynadot for each individual domain.

Joining DNOA.org saved me a fortune

It's a matter of liability. Some registrars will fully hide the WHOIS details, and
others will only hide the contact info yet show the actual name.

Whoever is listed as the registrant is the legal owner. But for those who hide
the full details, their legal fine prints mostly still assign you as such as a kind
of "internal arrangement".

Read those fine prints, ask them questions. Be aware.

Putting "Domain Manager" as the registrant name isn't a good idea. I've gotten
a notice about it one time, so I promptly changed it.
