Pushes are quick. You will need the recipients forum name. It & the unlock link are at the top right of the summary page,

Not working:

Please unlock this domain before submitting a Change Ownership request.

Unlock the account.
Then unlock the domain.
Then push.

IT says : "This domain is buy locked. Please wait until the lock period ends (about 60 days after the sale date)."

What does it mean ? I can't push it to another account ?

that's strange. If it's a gTLD you should be able to push it
maybe there is a short term (like a day or two) lock on the domain due to being newly registered?

I believe Dynadot has that policy. If you buy a domain (was it expired auctions?) then typically there is a 60 day hold before you can transfer it. It might also affect whois.. as in if you look up the whois your info probably won't show up for 30-60 days.

This is what I got from Dynadot:

I thought that I could push it to another Dynadot account ... That's why I bought it ...

Yeah ok but ... What if I sold it ? I need to transfer it to another Dynadot account...

Dynadot Jun 23 2015 10:35am
No, sorry. It cannot be moved between accounts.

What is the "Domain Sale" process?
https://www.dynadot.com/community/help/question/domain-sale-process

Our system automatically moves the domain to the buyer's Dynadot account so they can use the domain immediately. The domain will stay on a "Buy Lock" status for 60 days. This prevents the buyer from moving the domain to another Dynadot account or transferring the domain to another domain Registrar.

You'll have to wait the 60 days.

The problem is that I sold this domain ... and even if the buyer is on Dynadot, I can't transfer the domain ... I'm stuck ! What a joke ...

It's the last time that I'm doing business with this registrar ... I just lost a 900$ sale

Have you tried getting support in their chat?

Yes .. See previous posts ...

The guy said :"You'll have to wait the 60 days." ...

So
it means that you can do it on Godaddy but not on Dynadot ... That's stupid ! Why can't we transfer a domain from an account to another (internally) ? What is the matter ?... I don't get it ... ?

That's for dynadot to explain as it is their policy.. their system is a bit odd in several ways for expired auctions.. you can even buy a name and still have it renewed by the original owner too and then lose it days later, though they will issue a refund. It could have something to do with that or just following the general 60 day rule adopted by most registrars that you can't transfer within 60 days of registration/ownership change.

That's odd, I'm with dynadot and have a few domains with them . I asked about pushing 'quite new' domains and the support said upfront that 'Yes, domains can be pushed to a new Dynadot account.' I haven't done any transaction yet .

Before this I've contacted about an issue with their platform (the parking section isn't visible on my end so I couldn't change nameservers). Anyway, my guess is they're not really the type to encourage reselling domains. They will only give you credit to use your domain selling profit to be reused for their service. Smart but not really.

I haven't registered any more domains with them after the few first ones.

This is very interesting and good to know. Very unfortunate. I had the same thing happen to me when I caught a domain from NameJet and went into the Enom registrar it was under an auction lock I thought maybe I could push the domain to another Enom account and sold it but could not finalize the escrow and stuff because the domain was in Auction lock.

This sucked but I was able to explain to the buyer the situation and they were ok with waiting. So definitely don't give up yet if they really want the domain tell them the truth and see if they are willing to wait. If not don't worry there will be other buyers.

I learned my lesson and know I make sure to contact support of the registrar before I sell anything just to be sure.

I am currently experiencing this 60 day buy lock. It is when you purchase a domain from their marketplace sale area. I knew they had auction lock of 15 days for expired auction domains (which is reasonable), but did not realize they had 60 day lock for person to person sales in the marketplace. I won't do it again. 60 days is too long.
