traffic dSounds.com - Developed site (content + traffic + revenue)

This was originally a digital music news blog that I started a few years ago. I stopped updating it last May but have continued to get an increase in traffic since then.

I was approached by Sedo in January to sell this domain (wasn't planning on it before hand) so I had some appraisals done to establish an asking price.

AccurateDomains - $2,975 to $3,800

Zetetic appraisal - $7,500

I got a final offer from Sedo for $1,200 (message me and i will forward the email to you) but the buyer didn't think it was a developed site so was not willing to spend more.

Even though I haven't touched the site in 9 months I still generate revenue daily.

My traffic has also continued to increase each month.

A sale of the site would include all the content, the domain name, the logos on the site as well as some "consulting" of what I did (no more then 3 hours).

I would like $5,000 however of course I am willing to negotiate (including a payment plan). I would be happy to share my stats with anyone based off a fair offer and escrow.

It's like playing the stock market, you can take the profit and run, or you can see how far it goes. The risk being that you may never see another offer like that, which I kind of doubt if you can stick with it.
I'm more of buy and hold, so I'd say stick with it, update it every few weeks/months, and promote it a little, send it some more traffic without plopping a lot of $$$ back into it.
Nice name, very versatile and a lot of possibilities too!

Yeah, it really does feel like playing the stock market. No interest since when I was working with Sedo.

But I checked the stats and last month was another all time high. Traffic just keeps coming and I am still getting a click through rate of about 2%.

Anyone ever had any luck advertising their site with Sedo's Featured Listing?

The plot thickens... A little while ago (August) I had a thread of emails with a man named Shaf Rasul (Google that for some fun) a very well off entrepreneur from Scotland. After I refused his offer of $2000 US he ended up purchasing something similar.. too bad as I had decided that I will let it go for $2500.

So anyone out there looking for a steal? $2500 US for dSounds.com and all that goes with it.

Well when I was updating the site it was a lot higher then it is now. (obviously) The good thing is that I have an awesome CTR of approx. 2-3% using Googld Adsense.

I am definitely motivated to move it so if someone is interested please let me know.

Honestly, its the domain name that justifies the asking price. The content, revenue and traffic are just a bit of the "bonus" that goes along with the sale of the domain name.
