domain DrumTube.com, just received an offer, should i sell it?

just received an offer of $950 for the domain name DrumTube.com

for the past 3 months it's got 5,675 uniques and $4.24 revenue in total.

what's your opinion?

Should i sell it or hold it?

It is a good brandable name. I think it is a fair price but I would ask a little more, seeing that you like it yourself and the .net is developed. Maybe $1190?

I don't honestly see a potential dispute between DrumTube.com & Youtube.com. I'm far too small a fish for youtube to bother with

Do not bank on being a small fish. I can personally attest to the amazement and awe felt when a large corporation energizes its resorces against a tiny pebble too dry to bleed. They do it to protect their trademark. Once they know about you, to ignore you is to validate your right to use 'their' trademark. Their trademark on the *tube movement may or may not be defendable but ask yourself whether you want the aggravation of them claiming they own it. I am not saying you are in an indefensible position but I am saying they are in a position to challenge it and there are valid reasons for them to do so no matter how big a fish you are, being a small fish actually increases your exposure to such an assault.

The issue would be that "drumtube" sounds too much like "youtube". I don't see much of a case for YouTube though.

just got an offer from someone i contacted about the domain name, and he offered £600 which is about $1200.

since i'm not prepared to let it go just yet as NaughtyTube.com was sold for more than $10,000, (though i don't think DrumTube.com don't worth as much) i would still like to chance it in the sedo auction.

So i gave the proposal of $1200 starting bid to the interested party adding that if no one else interested, he will get the domain name at the price he's happy with, should there any more bids, may the highest bid wins.... I have not yet got a reply from him....

let's just wait and see...
