.tv Dropping .tv domains

I was trying to pick up a .tv from the drop list today and it left me wondering how some people operate when catching the drops.

I know exactly what timeframe the .tv domains drop and I was checking for their availability every 1-2 seconds. I noticed the name above and the name below the domain I wanted was available just on time, but the domain I had my eyes on never came up as available. This has happened 2-3 times in the last week and I'm starting to get a little ticked off about it.

It still isn't possible to backorder .tv's is it? How is it possible that a domain that supposedly gets dropped at a given date & time, doesn't show up as available for atleast a couple of seconds? Is this one of those annoying script tricks? :P

If anyone knows the big secret, please feel free to share it with me.

Missed another one! How? The .TV game has changed completely...

You can blame the increase in popularity of .tv, which in turn has led to an increase in those chasing and the methods being used.

Simply sitting there at drop time and clicking away is not going to work anymore.

Some here always said that they preferred the ext to be below the radar as they could basically pick up what they wanted......Those days are, for better or for worse, over.

Another one bites the dust and this time I bid more aggressively. There are clearly more individuals pursuing drops and willing to bid on good keyword domains. The days of getting premium .TV keywords for reg fee or a backorder or even under $100 in a Namejet "auction" (with no active bidders) appear to be over. The upcoming Tablet.tv auction will give us another gauge for how much things have changed.
