Dropping tomorrow but expires next year?

There's a name that is going to drop tomorrow but when I check the whois the name expires next year.

Which is it? Expires next year or is it going to drop tomorrow?

You don't have to check the expiry date and nothing to do with backorders. Dropping domain expiration date is usually extended one more year. Just check the status "pending delete" or such.
