Not sure how, but PokerRoom.Online and PokerRooms.Online slipped through preregistrations and they're not even premium (amazingly), so I nabbed 'em!

Given that poker rooms are originally an "offline" concept and because most poker sites are essentially "rooms" and they call themselves that, I think I made out with a couple of nice ones.

What .Online domains did you get?

It is hard not to get sucked in to buying good keyword(s) when a new extension is released. For me, it is comparable to a kid in a candy store.

It is my belief that .Online will gain much more recognition than many of the other extensions that have been released over the past few years. I hope I'm right....I have lost money in the past on new extensions and my biggest sale of a nTld was only $1k for a .me name a few years back...

BUT.....it is so darn hard to have restraint!!!! Lol

I just reg'd 2 more with thoughts of development....but time will tell if I actually find the gumption to do so. Aaaaaaaargh!!!!! Must.....Stop....reg'ing....
Need...To...Sit...Back...And...Assess
Must.....hide.....Credit Card!!!!

You have a couple of cute names... just remember what will happen when renewal times comes around.
If you do not find a discount, the names revert back to their normal price (about 3 times what you are paying now... nearly $30).

If you are looking or good keywords... my due diligence has shown that .FYI has very few premium/restricted names. Some have been picked up but many more are available. Almost all are at reg. fee, names like:
team
hockey
futbol
employment
tube
lyrics
song
image
television
picture
review... and the list goes on... all at reg. fee!

This was one of my main turn offs about .ONLINE. The registry withheld a great number of good domains names. Its their prerogative to handle business how they wish.

I am not trying to sway opinion here, just stating what I have found through my due diligence!
Everyone can make up their mind from there. We are all big boys and girls here...

Cheers

In my opinion .online extension might be a good choice for media, online stores and personal porfolio stuff...
Like:
Mike.online
Broke.online
Kelly.online
Christine.online... & so on

Just think of your name+.online on your business card... [Feel it]
This is the base of my opinion...
But i grabbed only 1 that is: PetStore. online having 60K Monthly searches with very low competition...
So let see where this extension lead us in future...

FYI - never understood what this meant until lately - don't know how this could compete against 5 million .info's .....

Mike Berkins picked up online.dating for 100K.

"The domain dating.online is NA, and if it was available it would be $10K or so per year+++

Much more searches for online.dating than dating.online & outside of the one time cost the renewal fee is low.

Also been in touch with the owner of onlinedating.com if you have interest bring me an offer of $x,xxx, xxx and I can get you a price, otherwise he has no interest".

,,,Interesting. I thought the word Online had no relevance! 8)))

I noticed today that 1 and 1 have put the price of .online up to $14.99 from $9.99.

because 9.99 was just a price to sucker people in.. get ready for $35 / year renewals... I hate when the new registrars do these tricks.

1 and 1 is hardly a new registry. They are just moving in line with the other registries I suppose. I am fine with 30 dollar renewal fees. You know that before you buy them and it stops people from registering so much crap that makes no sense like in the dot com space. $30 is peanuts for people who wish to develop a site. A packet of cigarettes in Australia costs nearly $30. It is a much better model than XYZ giving them a way for free and having 1000s drop off every day at renewal time.

I agree Yousaf, I registered my daughter's Christian name. I will keep it for a few years
and hand it over to her once she finishes college.

Since no one mentioned it I assume Godaddy didn't send refunds for lost auctions yet?
Kind of weird - last time I preordered some names I received a refund the same day...
